Toward a professionalism in Narrative Medicine: theoretical assumptions and practical methods

The aim of this advanced training course is to introduce the Narrative Medicine paradigm, in particular with regards to the intervention with narrative techniques on the patient-family-medical staff relationship and communication. The healthcare practitioners are constantly in contact with the patient illness story, with the need to transform this listen in the opportunity to collect valuable informations useful for the therapeutic planning.

The purpose of this course is to train both practitioners already engaged in this field and psychologists or other practitioners interested in the Narrative Medicine approach.

The course, thanks to the joint "Me TA-Es" laboratory, boasts a strong collaboration between the University and the Healthcare Institutions. The different members of the laboratory will bring them expertise, acquired in the clinical practice and teaching activities, in the Narrative Medicine field, giving to the course a strong applicative value.
